Book Buddies
Students age 6 – 11 can arrange to come to the shelter with their parent and read aloud to the shelter cats in order to better their reading skills. HSSCM has a supply of books, or you can bring your own. CLICK HERE to email/schedule your Book Buddy hours!
Scout Badges
HSSCM can help your Scout earn badges/patches, either for your whole troop (virtual-only, FREE or in-person, $10 per child) or one-on-one. For more information, CLICK HERE to email.
Student Projects on Animal Topics
HSSCM works with students who select animal welfare topics for their middle and high school projects. HSSCM is able to serve as a resource for papers, presentations, or speeches with appropriate notice in advance. Topics can include pet adoption, pet overpopulation, declawing, responsible pet ownership, laws to protect animals, or similar issues. CLICK HERE to request project assistance.
