HSSCM Transfer Partners

HSSCM can provide care for up to 40 dogs and 60 cats at any one time. The majority of our cats are owner-surrenders; all cats are from Calhoun County or the immediate surrounding area. HSSCM does take owner-surrender dogs as we have space and the dog passes temperament and health checks. Other dogs come as shelter-transfers, often from areas with high-kill rates. In this case, these dogs were literally scheduled for euthanasia before being released to journey to our facility. For them, HSSCM is truly a second chance at life.

HSSCM transfers animals in to our facility from the following agencies:

AABC (Animal Aid of Branch County) time affiliated more than 14 years. Dogs and puppies are from Branch/surrounding areas including upper Indiana/Illinois and Southern States. Additionally, HSSCM may transfer dogs or pups that were not coping with the shelter to AABC, including those which originally came from their rescue.
